I like trying portraits in available light of people doing what they do. They are mostly handheld. I up the ISO and open up the lens whenever necessary to get a usable shutter speed. This is taken in RAW with tungsten light and sorted in Adobe RAW converter and PSE8.

Thanks for looking.

John.

Thanks Mike.

The nifty is a handy lens to have.
I was surprised at the DOF I got at f1.8.

'tis a nice Guild to be sure.

Cheers,

John.

Hi John,
A lovely capture of your Son deep in thought of his music.
The nifty fifty is a fantastic lens and great value for money.

Very good John and  attractive grain probably helped along by the aperture.  One for the black and white treatment?
